Landscape drawings, 1828-1887.

Consists primarily of original drawings by Lear including 200 landscape illustrations for the poems of Tennyson, sketches and proofs for illustrations of the family of Psittacidae, his watercolors of India, many drawings and rhymes for his nonsense books, caricature self-portraits, and numerous drawings and watercolors of animals, birds, trees, and landscapes. Also includes his diary, 1864, describing a trip to Crete, humorous verses, a few letters, and some watercolors of nature by his sister Ann.
